BIO - Amanda Wittman
I graduated with my AAS degree from Johnson County Community College in 2006, hold my national certification, and have been interpreting professionally for nearly 10 years, however ASL is my first language; I am a CODA (child of deaf adult). I really enjoy legal interpreting, and the challenges it brings. After graduation, I worked as a staff interpreter and then freelanced for several years. After five years, I then opened Nexus Interpreting with another interpreter, Malonda Hutson, in January 2011. We focus on providing only the highest quality interpreters, utilizing CDI's, serving the greater Kansas City area and beyond. I currently serve as the governor appointed chair person for the interpreter committee with the Kansas Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (KCDHH). In my free time, I enjoy traveling with my family, and participating in marathons.
