BIO - Chriz Dally
When Chriz first started the process of "finding herself" during her college days at CSUN, she fell in love. She fell in love not with a person but with the idea of “being Deaf”. With a stronger sense of better ways to define oneself as a Deaf person with a right to exist in the world, she left college and went in search of her Deafhood, not realizing, at that time, that there would be such a word to describe such an experiencing. For over 25+ years, she relished her various roles in serving the Deaf community through community-involvement, advocacy, education, counseling, and consulting. It is through her connections with others, where her "world-view", or how she sees her world, has been enormously enlightened. She is thankful for all the opportunities she had to work alongside colleagues of various backgrounds and serve hundreds of Deaf children/ youth/ adults, their parents/ families, and allies within homes, schools, colleges, mental-health and community-based agencies, and grassroots-based social organizations. In 2017, her journey is not over, as it is always continuing, but in the meantime, Chriz is blissfully enjoying life in Olathe, Kansas with the love of her life (a person, this time!) and their three beautiful CODA children.
