BIO - Jennifer Fales
Jennifer Fales has been a public servant of Kansas City for over 27 years. During that time she has worked in a variety of departments and positions. In 2005 she joined the Emergency Management Office where she serves as the Training/Outreach Coordinator and a Duty Officer in the City’s state of the art emergency operations center. She coordinates and delivers preparedness and disaster response training, manages a volunteer program of over 500 community emergency response team members, provides financial and grant management including serving as the Finance/Administration Section Chief during major disasters, participates in the 24/7 week long duty officer rotation and assists with emergency/disaster planning, response, and recovery for the City. In addition to her local responsibilities, Jennifer is an active participant in regional emergency response and preparedness efforts. She currently Co-Chairs the Regional Citizen Education Committee and the Metropolitan Emergency Manager’s Committee, Membership and By-Laws Subcommittee. She also participates in the development and delivery of emergency drills and exercises at the local, regional and state levels. Jennifer is passionate about helping people prepare for the disaster she hopes never happens, as well as, the little emergencies that happen every day. She believes that everyone can do something to help themselves and their community when disaster strikes.
