BIO - Mary Ellen O'Brien Wright
Mary Ellen O’Brien Wright received her Masters degree from Gallaudet University, and has since worked with people with disabilities in a variety of settings, including rehabilitation, post-secondary institutions, independent living and state agencies. Since 2002 she has focused on promoting employment in Kansas, implementing and managing the Kansas Medicaid Buy-In Working Healthy, the personal assistance service program, WORK, administering two Federal employment grants, and partnering with disability stakeholders in the state to carry out the goals and objectives of a five-year strategic plan to improve employment outcomes for youth and adults with disabilities. She continues to work on employment initiatives in Kansas representing the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
